Export a page
Download a page as Markdown or Word, or print it to PDF.
Export is in the ⋯ menu at the top right of a page. There are two file formats and one print route, and they do not carry quite the same things.
| Format | What it is good for |
|---|---|
| Markdown | Anything that reads Markdown — a repository, an issue, a static site. Keeps equations as LaTeX. |
| Word | Sending to someone who expects a document. Keeps text colour, merged table cells, real numbered lists, and the images themselves. |
| Print or save as PDF, from the same menu. Best when the layout matters more than editing. |
Printing always uses the light theme, whichever theme you are reading in. Page backgrounds are not printed, so light-on-dark text would come out nearly invisible on paper.
Folders cannot be exported — there is no document to serialise. Export the pages inside it instead.
