Change, move or delete a block
Turn a paragraph into a heading, insert around it, or remove it — from the block menu.
Every block has a handle in the left margin. On a computer it appears when you move the pointer over the block; on a touch screen it follows the caret, so tap into the block first.
Hover over the block, or tap into it.
Click the handle in the left margin.
The block menu opens next to it.
Pick what you want.
Turn into changes this block's type; Insert above and Insert below add a new empty block; Delete removes it.
Turn into is the way to fix a block you started as the wrong thing — a paragraph that should have been a heading, or a list that should have been a to-do list. You do not have to retype it.
Insert above and Insert below will not stack empty blocks. If the block beside your insertion point is already an empty paragraph, the caret simply moves into it instead of adding a second one.
