Light or dark, and how wide things are
Pick a theme, hide or widen the sidebar, set the page width, and switch between Edit and View.
Everything here is remembered on the device you set it on, so the app opens the way you left it.

| The theme | Use the switch at the top right: Light, System or Dark. System follows your computer or phone. |
| Whether the sidebar shows | Press the button at the top left of the app. On a narrow screen the sidebar slides over the page instead, and closes when you pick a page. |
| How wide the sidebar is | On a wide screen, drag the sidebar's right edge. Double-click the edge to put it back to the standard width. |
| How wide the page is | Open the page's ⋮ menu at the top right and choose Full width, or Fixed width to go back. Phones always use the full width, so the choice is not offered there. |
| Editing or reading | Use Edit and View at the top of the page. View hides everything that edits, so you can read without changing anything by accident. |
The sidebar never takes so much room that the page gets cramped: on a smaller window it stops short of what you dragged it to, and goes back to your width when the window is bigger again. On an iPad in the iOS app, drag the line between the page list and the page instead, and double-tap it to reset.
